What Is the Qoobiss KYC Verification Service?
The Qoobiss KYC verification service is a scalable platform that lowers compliance costs and improves customer onboarding. It is built on ONTRACE and combines online identity checks, biometric verification and document validation in one automated flow. Regulated businesses can onboard customers faster and stay compliant.
The service lets organizations run KYC identity verification securely and at scale. Compliance and risk leaders use it, as do operations teams and companies in banking, fintech, crypto and online gaming that need reliable digital KYC verification.
What Our KYC Verification Service Includes
The service's components work together to cover customer onboarding, document verification and ongoing monitoring. Automated checks confirm who your users are and help prevent financial crime from the first interaction.
ID document capture and authentication: Government-issued documents are authenticated automatically. These include passports, national ID cards, driver's licenses and residence permits.
Biometric matching and selfie verification: The customer takes a selfie, which is compared with the ID photo using facial recognition. Biometric KYC verification also uses AI liveness detection to confirm that a real person is present.
Address verification: Where regulations require it, the customer's proof of address is checked using bank statements or utility bills.
Risk screening and identity assessment: Customers are screened against global sanctions lists, watchlists and databases of politically exposed persons (PEPs). Identity risk is assessed during the document and liveness checks. Video KYC verification can also be used for liveness checks.
Compliance record keeping and audit trails: Every step of the verification is logged in an audit trail. All data is encrypted and stored in line with local regulations.
How the KYC Verification Process Works
Automated KYC verification follows five steps. Together they confirm that the document is authentic and that the person presenting it is its rightful owner.
The customer starts the process: They enter their personal details and upload the required documents.
Document capture and validation: The service checks that the document is authentic and has not been altered. It examines fonts and font sizes and security features such as watermarks, and it reads the machine-readable zone (MRZ).
Biometric verification: A real-time selfie is matched against the ID photo. Liveness detection confirms that a real person is taking part.
Data extraction and risk assessment: Optical character recognition (OCR) is used for document data extraction, pulling out fields such as name and date of birth. That data then goes through AML screening against PEP and global sanctions lists.
Result delivery: The customer passes, fails or is flagged for manual review. Approved customers are onboarded straight away.
The service connects to existing platforms and apps through APIs, SDKs and webhooks, so KYC workflow automation fits into your current onboarding journey.
Benefits of KYC Automation
Manual KYC is slow, expensive and prone to error. KYC automation replaces manual data entry and document review with AI and OCR, so most checks finish in seconds rather than days. Fewer manual reviews mean faster onboarding, fewer mistakes and more consistent compliance.
KYC workflow automation makes the whole process digital, from identity verification to risk assessment. Automated KYC checks also keep sensitive data out of email and spreadsheets, which improves security. Know your customer automation lowers labor costs. When it is combined with ongoing transaction monitoring, it keeps checking customers for new risks after onboarding.
Data Protection and Audit Readiness
The KYC verification service is GDPR compliant. GDPR sets strict rules for organizations that do business in the EU or process the data of EU residents, and the service is designed around those rules. Because the process is automated, fewer people handle personal data, which lowers the risk of a leak.
Every step of the KYC and AML process is documented. Audit logs record the data entered, the document checks, the PEP screening results and the final approval decision. That gives compliance teams the evidence regulators ask for.
Regulatory readiness means preparing for new rules before they take effect, such as the EU's Anti-Money Laundering Regulation (AMLR), which applies from July 2027. With online KYC verification, changes in a customer's risk profile are flagged in real time, and compliance workflows can be adjusted as regulations change.
Why ONTRACE Powers Our KYC Verification
ONTRACE is the identity verification engine behind the service. It combines AI-powered document validation, OCR and global ID coverage, so you can verify customers wherever they are. Liveness detection and biometric matching block bots and impersonation attempts, which helps businesses meet KYC and AML requirements from the very first check.
KYC Verification Use Cases by Industry
Businesses use KYC verification to meet AML regulations and reduce fraud at onboarding. Financial institutions are legally required to follow KYC and AML procedures, but many other industries rely on the same checks to stop fake accounts and identify higher-risk customers.
Banking & Financial Services: Banks verify customer identities and screen them against watchlists to prevent fraud, identity theft and fake accounts.
Fintech & Payments: Fintechs and payment providers build identity verification, AML screening and fraud detection directly into onboarding.
Gaming & Gambling: Operators confirm that players are of legal age and check their location to meet the licensing rules in each jurisdiction.
Crypto & Digital Assets: Crypto platforms verify users in seconds and meet MiCA and AML requirements without slowing down sign-ups.
Marketplaces & Digital Platforms: Online marketplaces verify buyers and sellers at scale, automate onboarding and meet AML requirements.
Brokers & Forex: Brokers onboard traders remotely with document checks, liveness detection and PEP screening.
How Qoobiss Compares
Identity verification providers such as IDnow and Sumsub focus on high-volume ID checks for companies that onboard large numbers of customers. Qoobiss offers the same level of automation, with one difference: the KYC verification service is part of a wider compliance stack. ONTRACE handles identity verification and OMNICHECK handles AML screening. OVERWATCH, our compliance risk management platform, brings alerts and investigations together in one place.
The result is shorter onboarding times, lower operating costs and stronger security, without adding manual work.
